‘Mera pyaar bhara namaskar’, President Obama greets India
Before signing off after the press meet, ‘Chale saath saath’, Obama quipped
New Delhi: US President Barack Obama commenced his speech with “Mera pyaar bhara namaskar”, President Barack Obama as he broke into Hindi thrice while addressing the media at a joint briefing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
"Mera pyaar bhara namaskar (Greetings with love)," President Obama said, after PM Modi's opening statement.
He further went on to thank Prime minister Narendra Modi for his popular "Chai pe charcha". Obama remarked, “Thanks for hosting me at 'chai pe charcha'. We need more of those at the White House.”
Before signing off, “Chale saath saath”, Obama quipped.
Earlier, President Obama and PM Modi took a stroll in the lawns of Hyderabad House before they bonded over a cup of tea served by the Indian prime minister.
President Obama also recalled that Modi was greeted like a Bollywood star in Madison Square.
