Telugu is a challenge: Kriti Sanon
Kriti Sanon, who is busy with many Bollywood and Tollywood projects, talks about the two industries
Since her Bollywood debut with Heropanti, Kriti Sanon has been going places. And her Tollywood journey too, with Sukumar’s psychological thriller opposite Mahesh Babu, had seen a good start.
Kriti, who is busy these days dividing her time shooting in Hyderabad and Mumbai, talks to DC about her current projects and her future plans.
“My career is doing well both in Tollywood as well as Bollywood. I just finished a few days’ schedule in Hyderabad for the Telugu film Dochai, being directed by Sudheer Varma,” says Kriti, adding, “Naga Chaitanya is the male lead opposite me. We have finished shooting all the songs as well as 90 per cent of the film.”
Talking about her B-Town projects, she says, “I have Singh is Bling with Akshay Kumar and then I have Farzi with Shahid Kapoor.” Kriti mentions that she is still not very good in Telugu.
“I usually mug up my Telugu dialogues much before going to the sets every day. Yes, emoting become slightly difficult as half my mind is concentrating on speaking the dialogues correctly.
But till now, I have always managed to complete the entire shoot without any scene going kaput. I definitely have to put in a lot of effort but that’s the challenge I have to face.”
She adds that she does not find much difference between the two industries. “I find the working pattern to be the same in Bollywood as well as Tollywood. Especially because most directors of photography from the Telugu industry operate in Bollywood too.”
