Facebook suffers outage affecting users worldwide
Services took a hit early Tuesday and Facebook is working on fixing the issue
Facebook appeared to be down on early Tuesday, with the social media site saying it is working on fixing the issue.
Facebook was suffering a widespread outage on Tuesday affecting users in the United States, Asia and Australia. The social media giant's Instagram service is also inaccessible. Instagram said on its Twitter account that it is aware of an outage and is working on a fix.

There was no immediate statement from Facebook.
"Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can," Facebook said on its website.
Users from the United States and India reported that they were unable to log on. Representatives at Facebook were not immediately available for comment.
Facebook had 1.25 billion monthly active users at the end of September.
