Bombay High Court clears 'Rahasya' for release after objection from parents of Arushi Talwar
The film will release on the scheduled date, January 30
Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has cleared director Manish Gupta’s upcoming thriller ‘Rahasya’, which was inspired by the Arushi Talwar murder case, according to reports.
Initially the girl’s parents objected to the release of the film stating that it was based on their late daughter’s life and was unfit for cinema. After which the makers lost hope and the distributors pulled out, even the film’s publicity was put on hold.
Reports stated that the court has now ruled that the film’s story does not depict the facts of Arushi’s murder case and there is no case made out for a stay or any ad interim relief on the film.
The maker’s will have to display a disclaimed before the film stating that ‘Rahasya’ is fictitious and bears no resemblance to any person alive or dead.
The film will now release as scheduled on Friday, January 30.
