Telangana: Swine flu kills 3 more, 54 new cases diagnosed

Hyderabad: Three patients died due to H1N1 at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday taking the death toll to 29 in the state.

A 36-year-old from Ghatkesar, a 40-year-old from Champapet in Ranga Reddy district and a 54-year-old from Nalgonda died on Tuesday. They were all being treated at the Gandhi Hospital.

Meanwhile, 54 new cases were diagnosed on Tuesday taking the total number of cases to 494. 

Twin daughters of one head constable of the Special Protection Force were admitted to the Gandhi paediatric ward on Tuesday.

The two girls were undergoing treatment at a private hospital, but despite high fever, their blood samples were not tested till January 25. After the results came positive, the worried father rushed the girls to Gandhi Hospital for further treatment.

People who had come to the city for work from Rajasthan and Karnataka have also tested positive for H1N1 and are undergoing treatment in private hospitals.
