Special protection force to protect metro stations

Hyderabad: The state government and the Hyderabad Metro Rail are contemplating to entrust the security for Metro Rail depots and stations to the Special Protection Force.

Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma, HMR managing director N.V.S. Reddy and other officials at the meeting of Special Task Force decided to explore the feasibility of entrusting the state government portion of the security responsibility to the SPF. Dr Sharma asked the home secretary to convene a meeting with all the stakeholders and come up with a detailed proposal.
