'Mohenhjo Daro' DOP fired for taking up other projects during film's delay
The director made a last minute replacement for the cinematographer of the film
Mumbai: Ashutosh Gowariker has finally commenced shooting for his period drama, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ with Hrithik Roshan in Bhuj, Gujarat. The film was initially scheduled to go on floors in November, 2014 but was delayed by two months due to Hrithik’s injury.
According to a report in Mid-day Ashutosh made a last minute replacement for the cinematographer of the film.
A source was quoted as saying, “The film was supposed to go on the floors by the end of last November, but was advised bed rest for six weeks. Ayananka Bose had originally been signed as the cinematographer but when the film was delayed, he took up other projects. Many technicians do that as they are paid on a project- to- project basis.”
The report also stated that after Bose was told that the film’s first schedule would start on January 27, he asked Gowariker if he could join the set directly after he was done with his other commitments. However Gowariker wasn’t very pleased and decided to replace the cinematographer.
Gowariker has now reportedly hired CK Muraleedharan, who has previously worked with ‘pk’ director Rajkumar Hirani.
The film also stars newcomer Pooja Hegde, and is scheduled to release in 2016.
