Xiaomi Mi 3, Redmi phones get MIUI 6 update in India

The Xiaomi Mi 3 handsets have started to receive the latest MIUI 6 software update, and the Redmi series is expected to receive the update soon. While the Redmi Note 4G is expected to receive the update by next week, the Redmi Note 3G users may have to wait until late March for the software update to arrive. Additionally, the Redmi 1S users will also have to wait for the firmware update until the end of next month.
The MIUI 6 is a third party custom operating system based on Google’s Android KitKat. The new software update brings with it a number of developments over the previous version, which is marked by a more colourful, intuitive yet simpler interface.
The MIUI 6 software update will be available for download over-the-air as well as manually through its official website for the Xiaomi Mi 3, Redmi Note and Redmi 1s smartphones.
