HYDERABAD: Hundreds of students could be affected due to a clash in the dates of entrance exams of two premier institutions in Hyderabad. The entrance exams to the National Institute of Fashion Technology and some of the five-year integrated courses of the University of Hyderabad are being held on the same day, February 8.
About 400 students, expected to have registered for both exams, will be affected. The notification was first issued by NIFT and then by the University of Hyderabad.
NIFT conducts two exams for admission to its Bachelor of Fashion Technology course, but admits students following the “best of two” model. The second exam of NIFT is scheduled on February 8. Meanwhile, the entrance exam to the five-year integrated courses for MSc and MA are also scheduled on the same day.
“We have requested both NIFT and University of Hyderabad to consider changing the dates. UoH issued the notification later, so it should change the date. But NIFT’s process of conducting two exams also doesn’t stand legally,” Suresh D., a parent said.
