Students' blacken faces, cover faces with black cloth
The students are on a sit-in dharna on the campus
Coimbatore: Over 200 students of Forest College and Research Institute blackened their faces with charcoal and covered their mouths with black cloth as their stir seeking 100 per cent reservation in jobs of forest rangers entered the fifth day on Saturday.
The students, including 63 girls, started their strike on the campus to bring their plight to the notice of the authorities concerned.
The students are on a sit-in dharna on the campus, despite indefinite closure of the college and canteen, demanding that government provide 100 per cent jobs of rangers and foresters to them.
The students said they covered their eyes with black cloth and applied charcoal on their faces to symbolise that their future was 'dark' without the rangers' jobs. Some parents also sat with their wards, police said.
