Watch: Amitabh Bachchan to make commentary debut at World Cup
B-Town star will head to Adelaide for India-Pakistan match on February 15
Mumbai: The ICC Cricket World Cup just got all the more exciting with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan making his debut in the commentary box. Senior Bachchan will join 1983 World Cup captain Kapil Dev, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar and cricketing expert Harsha Bhogle for the much awaited mega event. The trio will take to the mic at the India-Pakistan match at the Oval on February 15.
Bachchan’s deep voice is the key element in his upcoming film Shamitabh and television reports say that he will lend the same tone while commentating. A promo that was launched at the Australia vs England match at Perth on Sunday has been doing the rounds. The video features Dev and Akhtar, who sound like Big B after popping a Shamitabh candy in their mouth.

Will Bachchan’s tone add to the drama at the Oval or will the intensity at the pitch overpower it? Let’s wait and watch.
"I am excited about the live commentary and I will be joined by Harsha Bhogle and Kapil Dev. I am taking tips from them and getting all the 'mid-off and mid-on' right," he said.
"This is all R Balki's decision (director of Shamitabh) as there is an integration between the sports broadcasters and the makers of 'Shamitabh'.
