Yuvraj Singh to receive a comeback call to World Cup squad?
Jadeja’s fitness concerns may lead to Yuvraj' s return to Team India
Mumbai: The cricketing mega event is barely a week away and the title-holders India are struggling with form and fitness of their players. The BCCI on Monday announced that Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja will undergo a two-part fitness test on February 7, ahead of India’s warm-up game against Australia.
With Mohit Sharma and Dhawal Kulkarni already in Australia, India have their back-up plan in place if Ishant and Bhuvneshwar fail to pass the fitness test. While Rohit Sharma is said to be on his way to gain full fitness, the same cannot be said about Ravindra Jadeja.

Keeping this scenario in mind, it would not come as a surprise to see Yuvraj Singh, who is not a part of the original 15-man squad for the World Cup, landing up in Australia to join the Indian team in what could be his fourth World Cup.
Yuvraj Singh has won it all that that's there to be won in ODIs and T20, Under-19 World Cup, ICC World T20 Championship, 2011 ICC World Cup. But if Ravindra Jadeja, who would be undergoing a fitness test on Saturday, could not pass it, there exists a chance wherein Yuvraj Singh could be recalled to India’s World Cup squad.
If one can remember Sanjay Patel, BCCI secretary, saying, ‘Yuvraj’s name alongside many others was discussed’ discussing the left-hander’s exclusion from World Cup team.
Although Yuvraj, in the past had struggled to make a successful return to international cricket, his fine form in Ranji Trophy in December can give his career a fresh lease of life.
One may argue that Yuvraj may not able to replicate his bright form in domestic cricket to International cricket and face problems like he did during his previous comeback stint. But, with India running short of options, a recall may be around the corner for India’s star performer at the World Cup 2011.
