Leaked: HTC to launch A55, a powerful handset, this month

HTC A55 is not a flagship handset, but an addition to the Desire series

It is that time of the year when flagship smartphones are to be launched, one after the other. With a few smartphones already here, major brands, such as Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony and a few others, will show off their goods at the MWC 2015.

As the flagships will be launched soon, the speculations and rumours don’t give up, but increase with time. This leak is with regards to HTC, which is about to unveil a powerful high-end smartphone. Surprisingly, the handset is not considered as a flagship smartphone, and the leak states that the device will be in line with the Desire series.

HTC will unveil the HTC A55, which is was earlier codenamed as HTC Hima_Ace. Famous leakster @Upleaks has posted a leak about the A55, which he claims is in line with the Desire series and will not be a flagship smartphone.

The HTC A55 is rumoured to be a high-end smartphone sporting a 5.5-inch WQHD display and built using a MediaTek MT6795 chipset with a 64-bit, 8-core 2GHz processor and 3GB of RAM. The onboard storage will be provided at 32GB and the device will run off Android Lollipop with HTC’s Desire Sense 7.0 UI. The rear camera will sport a 13MP sensor, while the front camera could also sport a 13MP sensor or a 4MP UltraPixel sensor. Additional specifications leaked include Bluetooth v4.0, BoomSound and a battery, which will be lower than a 3000 mAh. The leak also specified that the HTC A55 will be available in three colours—White Rose Gold, Gray and Brown Gold, and will ship with a DotView flipcover as an accessory. @Upleaks also alleges that the device will see two variants, a single SIM and a dual SIM, for the EMEA and Asian markets, respectively.
