Saif-Katrina starrer 'Phantom' release postponed to August
The film was initially slated to release in April
Mumbai: The release of Kabir Khan’s ‘Phantom’ has been postponed yet again. The Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan starrer was initially scheduled to release on October 2, 2014, however the date was already booked by other makers for major releases, and therefore the date was postponed to April 2015.
Now the release date has further been postponed to August, according to a report in DNA. The film was further delayed as the makers found the film too similar to Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Baby’.
‘Baby’ revolves around the members of a fictitious secret operation called ‘Baby’, a temporary task force headed whose mission is to protect the country from terrorists . Whereas Phantom is about the aftermath of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, as well as global terrorism.
There were quite a few similarities in both films. The report stated that the female leads in both films play special agents. Thus the makers have decided to push the release date forward to August.
