A small role in the epic Baahubali
Adivi Sesh opens up about how he persuaded Rajamouli for a role in his upcoming behemoth
Adivi Sesh has been on a high since last year’s Run Raja Run and the recent Ladies and Gentlemen became hits. “The similarity between these two films is that both roles have small twists and surprises the audience loved,” says Adivi.
The actor is now excited about his on-going projects, one of them being Baahubali, in which he has a small role. “I knew producer Shobhu and I requested him to get me an appointment with director Rajamouli. I met Rajamouli sir and requested him to give me a small role, as I wanted to work with him. I told him that I was even ready to do a junior artiste’s character.
He didn’t say anything at that time. I thought he had forgotten. Then one day after several months, I got a call from him. He told me about an important character of young prince, and that’s how I got into Baahubali,” he says, adding, “Working with him was a great experience for me and I became friends with Prabhas, Rana and Anushka.”
After Kiss, Adivi Sesh has decided not to double as director and actor. “Acting is an emotional process and direction is a mental process. I didn’t enjoy doing both,” he says.
The next few months hold a lot in store for him. “I am playing the lead in a film produced by Manchu Lakshmi. It’s a crime comedy. I have also signed another film, Kshanam. Adah Sharma is playing as the female lead in this film.”
