Hyderabad: Justice S.V. Bhatt of the Hyderabad HC on Tuesday asked the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) to implead the Telangana government as a party to its plea challenging the decision of the State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) to freeze its account.

The council has submitted that the SBH’s Shantinagar branch in the city had recently seized the account of AP State Council of Higher Education following a letter reportedly sent by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education asking banks to freeze the accounts of APSCHE.

The AP State Council of Higher Education contended that the bank’s action was illegal and urged the court to quash the decision of the  State Bank of Hyderabad and allow it to operate the account.
The judge said it would be proper to implead the Telangana government as a party before the passing the orders and posted the case to February 5.
