New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has got the support of the CPM, which has pledged to support it in the Delhi Assembly polls on those seats from where it is not contesting the elections.
Maintaining that the decision is aimed at keeping the BJP and the Congress out of power in the national capital, party general secretary Prakash Karat on Wednesday said the CPM has asked its members to vote for the AAP in the 55 Assembly segments of Delhi where the Left does not have candidates.
“We are not a strong force. In Delhi, we were not there. What can be done?” said Mr Karat accepting that the Left is no longer a strong force.
In 2013 Delhi polls too, the CPM gave a similar call. “We have supported the BSP in the past. The main aim is to keep the Congress and BJP out, and in Delhi especially BJP,” he added.
