Bose received a conditional bail in connection with Saradha scam

Kolkata: Saradha scam accused Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose quit the Trinamool Congress on Thursday. Bose’s resignation from the Trinamool Congress comes after a day, he was released on conditional bail.

Bose, had spent 75 days in police and jail custody after his arrest by the CBI in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam. He received his bail on Wednesday. Bose announced his decision to quit as an MP and also from the primary membership of Trinamool in a media release here.

"I would like to inform that with immediate effect, I have resigned from my membership of the Rajya Sabha. I have also decided to resign from the primary membership of the party - the Trinamool Congress," he said in the release.

The Special Crime Branch of the CBI on November 21, 014, arrested the TMC leader.

Speaking to PTI on Wednesday, the CBI told that, charges against Bose were not tenable, as he was charged under Sections 409 of IPC. District and Session Judge's Court, Alipore Samaresh Prasad Chowdhury granted bail to Bose after imposing three conditions that he would not leave the country, he would not threaten witnesses and he would respond to CBI's summons, whenever served.
