Manchester: According to a report in Mirror, David Moyes revealed that he banned chips at Manchester United while he served as the manager. Why? He found some players were too fat.
He was criticised by senior player Rio Ferdinand for doing what he did during his 10-month tenure.
"We loved our chips, but Moyes comes in and, after his first week, he says we can’t have chips any more," he revealed in his book.
"Yes, I did ban chips," said Moyes, adding: “It was because a couple of players were overweight and I didn't think chips were good for their diet."
The club axed Moyes in 2014 after a disastrous English Premier League season.
