Acer’s new 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processor based device arrives in India
The U series of 5th Gen Intel Core processors supports two cores and four threads with Intel HT Technology
Acer has announced that it will be expanding support for 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processors, adding the CPU to its hugely popular line of Aspire E5-571 notebooks in India. The 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processors have been designed to improve performance, graphics and battery life over previous versions.
Key features of 5th Generation Intel Core processors U series
Better, more responsive performance
5th Gen Intel Core i5 processors combine the power efficiency of the new 14nm process with improvements in processor instructions to deliver faster performance. The U series of 5th Gen Intel Core i5 processors supports two cores and up to four threads with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel HT Technology). In addition, Intel Turbo Boost 2.02 dynamically controls the performance and power of both cores and graphics—boosting performance exactly where and when it is needed and saving energy when it counts. It also offers features like gesture, voice, and facial recognition.
Longer battery life
Processor power design improvements across CPU, graphics, I/O, and power management, plus the increased power efficiency of Intel’s 14nm manufacturing process, combine to offer users an improved battery life vs. 4th gen Intel Core processors (U series).
5th Gen Intel Core i5 processors with Intel HD graphics have a 15W thermal design point (TDP) with a configurable TDP (cTDP) down option. This delivers the balanced performance and battery life needed for thin, innovative 2-in-1s in addition to mainstream designs.
