Theives target women passengers travelling in buses and steal their gold ornaments
Hyderabad: The Petbasheerabad police has nabbed two notorious thieves including a woman who were allegedly involved in about a dozen offences. They used to target women passengers travelling in buses and steal their gold ornaments.
The accused are Uma Kiran alias Sima, 44, a labourer and resident of Mangarai Basthi in Mallepally and Narsimha, 55, a driver and resident of Mangalhat. Police said that Uma Kiran used to board RTC buses posing as a passenger and steal gold ornaments from passengers. Narsimha would wait for Uma Kiran to get down from the bus and they used to escape. The duo is suspected to have been active since a decade, and were caught during a vehicle check at Jeedimetla. About 40 grams of gold were recovered from them.
