Mother stages kidnap drama
The police traced the people who bought the child from Rajitha
Hyderabad: The police has solved the kidnap case of the 18-month-old boy. The kid’s mother B. Rajitha had sold the child for Rs 1.3 lakh due to poverty. She along with her mother tried to make it a kidnap. During investigation, the police found the version of the complainant was not convincing. Cops said the accused is absconding. The police traced the people who bought the child from Rajitha.
North Zone DCP G. Sudheer Babu said that due to poverty B. Rajitha decided to sell her child who had a twin. She contacted one Jangam Laxmi, a resident of Husnabad and Bhagyamma of Regonda village and struck a deal.
According to the agreement, about 20 days ago, she took about Rs 1.3 lakh from one M. Bhujanga Rao, of Warangal district who is a driver with Sony Travels and is staying at Nacharam. She handed over the child to him at the Venkates-hwara Swamy temple at Manthani through mediators. Later she staged the kidnap drama. After selling one of the twins, she brought the other one here and lodged a false complaint stating that he was kidnapped, officials said.
On Saturday, Rajitha approached the Marredpally police and lodged a complaint alleging that a 50-year-old unidentified woman kidnapped the child. In her complaint she stated that she and her mother Vijaya had come to Habsiguda and had gone to the Jubilee Bus Station to board a bus. She claimed that she had handed over the kid to the woman in order to control her three-year-old son Arun. She said that when she returned both the woman and the kid were missing.
