Jaipur: Swine flu has claimed 12 more lives in parts of Rajasthan in the last 48 hours, taking the death toll to 104 this year, an official of state Medical and Health Department on Tuesday said.
Two persons each succumbed to H1N1 virus in Jodhpur, Sikar, Nagaur districts while one each died in Barmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and Churu districts in the last 48 hours, the official said.
Out of the 1,037 people tested positive for the virus, 104 have died in the state from January 1 till today, the official said. Of the 33 districts in Rajasthan, 29 are affected with swine flu. Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Sirohi and Baran districts were reported to be safe as per the MHD records, the directorate official said.
So far, Ajmer and Jaipur have recorded the maximum number of deaths due to swine flu at 19 each followed by Nagaur 9, Barmer and Chittorgarh 7 each, Banswara, Jodhpur, Kota 5 each, Tonk, Bikaner 4 each, three in Bhilwara, Dausa, Pali, Bundi, Udaipur, Sikar 2 each.
One person each succumbed to swine flu in Ganganagar, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Jaisalmer, Bharatpur, Churu and Dungarpur.
