Truck mows down two motorists

Hyderabad: Two persons were killed when the bike they were traveling on was hit by a rashly driven truck at Merkanpet village in  Ranga Reddy District on Monday night. The truck driver was speeding in the wrong lane when he hit the motorists killing them instantly. The deceased were identified as K. Peddamaiah, 57 and B. Ramulu, 56, both farmers.

The police said that the accident occurred at 7.30 pm when the duo were on their way back home. Locals rushed to rescue of the two but the effort was in vain. A case for negligence has been booked. The police have launched a hunt for the driver.
