Trust Aamir Khan to speak up publicly where the two other Khan superstars have merely expressed their disapproval in private. At a public event this week, Aamir confessed that the controversial Roast featuring his friends Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor left him “deeply affected and disappointed.”

Said Aamir, “I felt that the show was violent. And both Karan and Arjun being my friends, I told them that I didn’t like it. Besides trying to impress people by using abusive language is pointless. I am no longer 14 year old who will hear abusive language and laugh. If you really want me to laugh then do so without hurting anyone. That is what I will enjoy.”

The opinion is secretly shared by the other two Khans — Salman and Shah Rukh. Says a very reliable source from within the film industry. “While Shah Rukh has expressed his disapproval mildly, Salman has openly been venting and has even told some close friends he won’t be doing Shuddhi.”

Others who have been closely associated with Karan Johar, such as Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor and Imran Khan have chosen not to comment on the matter. “They have expressed no opinion on the matter. The same goes for the actresses. Kareena, Katrina, Deepika didn’t discuss it either. Most of Karan’s friends believe it’s none of their business,” says the source.
