Warangal: Situation turned tense in Warangal ahead of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to address party workers. Early in the morning, the backdrop of the dais that was set up for Naidu’s meet was set ablaze allegedly by Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) activists.

The TDP party workers who were present at the venue put off the flames with the help of fire brigade and the backdrop has been replaced. The MRPS had earlier pledged to obstruct Naidu’s visit if he does not clarify his stand on categorization of the Scheduled castes.

In Kazipet, MRPS activists burnt down the banners of the TDP, welcoming Naidu. They also burnt down tires shouting slogans against Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP party office in Hanamkonda was also attacked by the MRPS who set the furniture and banners in the office ablaze. The locals, who saw the fire, put off the flames. With this, the police got into alert mode.

TDP leaders say this is a failure of the TRS government in providing security to the Chief Minister of a neighbouring state.
