Hyderabad: Stating that Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister from the post of Chief Minister was good for the states, Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday set a three-point road map for the state administration to fulfil the aspirations of people.

He also asked officials to prepare the 2015-2016 Budget and schemes in tune with changing Central government policies to ensure funds, adding that the country’s shift from a Nehruvian socialist pattern to a market economy was inevitable, keeping in tune with times.

“The Centre plans to drastically prune many schemes. Assistance to states too will undergo a sea change. It is also coming out with new ideas, new policies to take the country into a new era. You (state officials) have to be attuned to this change,” he said.

Mr Rao said that the state administration should focus on development and welfare. “First priority is welfare for the poor, second agriculture and third is industries, investments, basic amenities. We need planning in these three areas. A comprehensive and full-fledged budget should be prepared in tune with public aspirations, with this objective and ground reality. Nothing should be hidden,” he said.

Laying a road map for development of the state, the CM said reconstruction of Telangana should be done as per the aspirations of people. Predicting major changes in the days to come, he said that in tune with it, Mr Modi had brought in NITI Aayog.

Mr Rao  held a meeting with senior officials to prepare the state’s proposals for NITI, besides preparations for general budget. “It is the responsibility of politicians like him and officials to take the state forward. Unless the PM, CMs, Central and  state ministers and officials work in tandem, one cannot achieve the goal,” he said.
