Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Cyber Crime sleuths busted a lottery fraud and nabbed two Nigerian nationals for cheating gullible people. The accused allegedly sent messages to customers claiming that they had won a lottery. They then collected money as “procession charges” from the victims before absconding with the money. The accused have been identified as Osa Buogbemen Christopher, 31, and Ogiegbea Amen Victor, 34, both from Benin in Nigeria.

According to B. Naveen Kumar, DCP (crimes), the Cyber Crime Police laid a trap and nabbed the accused. They were also put under surveillance. The Nigerian men had rented a flat in a posh locality of Manikonda.

The sleuths seized two laptops and two cellphones from their possession. “When the laptops were opened for analysis, it was found that they had about 1 lakh email IDs of different people. We also found incriminating evidence,” said the cop. The accused were produced in court and sent to judicial remand.
