Check out: How pitch and weather may behave during India, Pakistan World Cup clash
Adelaide wicket is unlikely to pose too many questions to batsmen
Adelaide: The broadcasters have termed the India vs Pakistan game a blockbuster with a prediction of 1.2 billion viewership. The match tickets for the clash between archrivals have been sold in 20 minutes. The hotels in Adelaide are already jam-packed as well.
With all set for a big game on Sunday, here are the pitch and weather details.
Pitch
The Adelaide wicket, like majority of the pitches in Australia, will help pacers. However, it won’t treat spinners with disdain like a wicket at WACA may do. The batsmen meanwhile, should not face much trouble batting on it.
Weather
First and foremost, there is absolutely no chance of rain playing spoilsport during the mother of all clashes of World Cup 2015. The maximum temperature in Adelaide will hover around 33 °C while the minimum temperature would be approximately 16 °C.
Key players
Virat Kohli: He did not score too many runs in the tri-angular series involving England and Australia and fell cheaply in India’s warm-up games against Australia and Afghanistan. But Virat Kohli definitely knows how to up his game in the matches which matter.
While the right-hander did not enjoy much success against Pakistan in 50-overs cricket, barring his 183-run knock in Asia Cup 2012, the Indian vice-captain would be keen to improve his record against archrivals Pakistan.
Afridi: He is reportedly been warned for partying with youngsters ahead of World Cup. But Pakistan’s temperamental all-rounder knows more than a trick or two to frustrate India. While he could not do much with the bat during the India vs Pakistan World Cup tie 2011, he would be eager to shine bright in what could be his last World Cup encounter against Team India.
