Hyderabad: Telangana state government has submitted before the Hyderabad High Court that AP has no authority to interfere in the functioning of the organisations specified in the 10th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act in respect of those that are situated in the Telangana territory. The TS government filed an affidavit before the court pursuant to a notice in a petition filed by the APSCHE challenging the freezing of its bank account by the State Bank of Hyderabad at the behest of Telangana government.

It was submitted that as per the Act the institutions specified in the Schedule located in AP or Telangana, continue to provide facilities to the people of the other state.

According to the affidavit, the state of Telangana has adapted AP State Council of Higher Education Act 1988 as Telangana State Council of Higher Education Act on August 2, 2014, so as to govern the law for the institution.

After constituting the Telangana Council, the AP Council does not have any authority to continue its operations in Telangana.

It also contended that the bank was right in freezing operations of the accounts and urged the court to dismiss the plea of the AP Council.
