Telangana gets Centre’s award for green energy policies

'This will boost our efforts and we will go ahead with our policies with new vigour'

Hyderabad: The Union government has presented a special award to the government of Telangana for its policies on promoting non-conventional and renewable energy sources. Telangana power minister Jagadish Reddy and energy secretary Aravind Kumar received the award at the Non-Conventional Energy Resources Investors’ Conference held in New Delhi.

Appreciating the measures taken by the TS government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the new state is one of the 12 states in the country which have been showing excellent results in spending funds given under 13th Five-Year plan. He commended the implementation of new policies in all the 10 districts of Telangana State, said a press release by the government.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said, “This will boost our efforts and we will go ahead with our policies with new vigour.”
