Job test age limit for Telangana govt recruitment exams raised to 40!
Orders to this effect are expected by this month end
Hyderabad: The maximum age limit for the TS government’s recruitment exams is likely to be raised to 40 years. The current maximum age limit is 34 years, which was fixed before bifurcation.
Orders to this effect are expected by this month end.
The TS government wants to compensate job aspirants by increasing the age limit since previous governments in the undivided state had failed to conduct recruitment exams regularly. Also, many students were actively involved in the Telangana agitation since 2009 and had lost job opportunities due to it.
Lakhs of students had missed the opportunity to appear for these exams due to age bar as no recruitment exams had been conducted since 2009 due to political uncertainty over Telangana state.
Though former CM N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had increased the age limit by two years, from 34 to 36 years in June 2013, it could not be implemented as no exams were conducted due to the bifurcation issue.
