Apple will fix your MacBook Pro’s video issues for free

The video issue occurred in the systems sold between February 2011 and December 2013

It was determined that some of the Apple MacBook Pro sold between February 2011 and December 2013 were exhibiting distorted videos, no videos or unexpected reboots. If you are an owner of one of these MacBook Pro, then Apple has a good news for you!

Apple recently announced that it will repair the affected MacBook Pro systems, free of cost. That’s right, if you own a 15-inch or 17-inch MacBook Pro and even if it does not fall in the warranty period, Apple will fix the video issue for free.

As of February 20, 2015, the repair process will be available in the US and Canada. In other countries, it will be available as of February 27, 2015.

The affected models are:

  • MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011)
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)
  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012)
  • MacBook Pro (17-inch Early 2011)
  • MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011)
  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Early 2013)
