Ajay Devgn had a closed-door meeting recently with Hrithik Roshan to discuss the release of their respective films, which incidentally had the same release dates. Apparently, it was Ajay Devgn’s smart business acumen that made him make the first move to avoid the clash.
“Ajay is gung ho about his upcoming film Baadshaho and Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjodaro too is a big film. The industry bigwigs have always tried their best to not release their films on the same date,” says a trade analyst. Both the actors have a decent box office record and wouldn’t want anything to hamper it. Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan too was of the opinion that there needs to be a gap between the two films.
In the past, Ajay’s Son Of Sardaar and YRF’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan released on the same date and both the films had to bear the brunt of the clash. Business was affected to quite an extent. “I think Ajay is an extremely sensible businessman. He has learnt his lessons during SOS and is now going out of his way to avoid the box office clash,” says a close source. Since both the actors will have a big release after a long gap, they would want to ensure that their films do good business.
