WC 2015 IND vs SA: Shikhar Dhawan's ton takes Team India to victory
Facts proved right as India have never lost ODI match when left-hander scores century
Melbourne: India defeated South Africa by130 runs in their Group B Cricket World Cup match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Electing to bat, India made 307 for seven in 50 overs and then bowled out South Africa for 177 in 40.2 overs.
India were left hoping their sequence of winning every one-day international match where Shikhar Dhawan has made a hundred held good as the opener posted 137 against the Proteas. And his contribution was enough to take Team India to victory.
Dhawan, 29, made the most of being dropped by Hashim Amla earlier in his innings at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to post the highest of his seven hundreds in 55 ODIs.

The left-hander's latest ton came off 122 balls including 14 fours. He was eventually out for 137, surpassing his previous best of 119 against the West Indies in Kanpur two years ago, when he holed out off Wayne Parnell to long leg where Amla, on this occasion, held the catch.
In total, Dhawan faced 146 balls, including 16 fours and two sixes. All six of Dhawan's previous ODI hundreds have come during wins for India, the defending World Cup champions. His century haul included an innings of 114 in a 26-run victory against South Africa in Cardiff in 2012 during India's run to the Champions Trophy title.
