YS Jagan Mohan Reddy lashes out at Chandrababu Naidu during meet
The CM's announcement of loan waiver off scheme had not even covered the principle on loan
HINDUPUR: YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a public meeting at Hindupur. Mr Reddy said that Mr Naidu was claiming credit for the Handri Neeva Sujala Shravanthi and Galeru Nagari projects, though he had not allocated the required budget for the completion of the final stage.
“Though, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had spent Rs 11,000 cr in total, Rs 5,600 cr on Handri and Neeva and Rs 5,600 crore on Galeru Nagari during his regime, Mr Naidu is simply claiming credit for these projects,” accused the Opposition leader. He added that only Rs 17 crore have been released for the projects so far.
As a part of his five-day Raythu Bharosa Yatra, Mr Reddy started the campaign at Kodikonda checkpost in Chilamathur mandal. The yatra is to console the kin of farmers who had committed suicide due to mounting debt burden following drought and crop losses.
Mr Reddy went Mamidimakulapalli in Lepakshi mandal and interacted with the family members of K. Siddaiah. Siddaiah had committed suicide two months ago. Mr Reddy assured the family members that he would stand by them at all times.
Later, addressing public meeting at Hindupur, he recalled Siddaiah's case. He said that none of the officials or elected representatives had visited Siddaiah's residence though he had committed suicide two months ago. "The CM's announcement of loan waiver off scheme had not even covered the principle on loan," he observed.
The Opposition leader called on the students and farmers to fight against the government. Mr.Y.S.Jagan will console the families of 13 farmers who have committed suicide. According to schedule, he will visit Hindupuram on February 22, Puttaparthy on February 23, Uravakonda on February 24 and Guntakal constituencies on February 25 and 26.
