Smuggler K Gangi Reddy was arrested in Mauritius while he was about to flee to Dubai

Hyderabad: Notorious red sanders smuggler K. Gangi Reddy was arrested in Mauritius while he was about to flee to Dubai. Top sources in the state police said that based on their information, the Mauritius police arrested him on his way from the hotel to the airport. A red corner notice had been issued against him by the Interpol earlier.
 
Gangi Reddy had fled India for Dubai after the election results last year. “From there, he reached Mauritius. His visit visa to Mauritius expired on February 22, and the cops knew about it and kept tab. On his passport, a ticket was booked to the UAE and the Interpol was informed.” He was arrested in Mauritius by the  police and Interpol.  
 
An official said they will seek his extradition or deportation. He has been named in 29 criminal cases from 1994 to 2014 in Kadapa, Kurnool and Chittoor districts. He also allegedly helped Naxals attack Chandrababu Naidu in 2003 when Mr Naidu was CM.
