Gulf Oil Corporation factory blast: One more dies of injuries
The doctors said the condition of three other victims were critical

Hyderabad: Two days after the blast in Gulf Oil Corporation Limited the death toll rose to three as one of the injured workers succumbed on Wednesday. The victim, V. Madhusudhan Reddy, 61, who was working in the disposal section, had suffered major burns on his body. “He had 96 per cent burns over his body and was undergoing treatment at the Apollo DRDO Hospital. He died on Wednesday at 4 pm,” said a doctor from the hospital.
A resident of Lothkunta of Secunderabad, Mr Reddy was an employee at IDL and had retired a few years ago. However, the management allowed him to continue in the firm.
The doctors said the condition of three other victims were critical. “Those three have more than 70 per cent burns. Their condition is very serious,” said the doctor. Cyberabad police have decided to press negligence charges against the GOCL management in connection with the mishap that resulted in the death of three workers and injuries to 12 others. Senior officials have asked the probe team to file a charge sheet as soon as possible. Some top management people are likely to be questioned on Thursday by the investigation officials.
Cyberabad police commissioner said that they will write to the Telangana DGP and Chief Secretary to take the issue to the Centre and shift the company away from the city to ensure the safety of the public. The Kukatpally police had booked a case under Sections 304 A (causing death by negligence), 337 (Causing injuries by endangering the life or safety of others), 338 (Causing grievous injuries by endangering the life or safety of others). However no names were mentioned in the FIR.
