Telangana government would not spare anyone, involved in the Indiramma Housing Scam
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minsiter K. Chandrasekhar Rao said in the Assembly that the government would not spare anyone, be it ministers or MLAs, if they were found to be involved in the Indiramma Housing Scam.
The CID conducted preliminary investigations in only 18 Assembly constituencies, covering just 36 villages in all TS districts barring Hyderabad, due to staff and time constraints. The CID is expected to submit a report to the CM in a day or two. “CID will submit the report to the CM directly. It is likely to be tabled in the Assembly in the Budget session.
The government will take the opinion of all parties before proceeding,” said A. Indrakaran Reddy, the minister for housing. Sources said that the CID, in its report, has found fault only with officials and small-time employees of Housing and Revenue departments without mentioning ministers, MLAs etc. from 2004 to 2014, the period when the irregularities took place.
They said that the CID had found that Rs 250 crore had been siphoned off in just 18 constituencies and the total amount from the scam was likely to run into thousands of crores.
