Rahul Gandhi is in India, says Jagdish Sharma
He denied media claims that Rahul was in Bangkok
New Delhi: A senior Congress MP said only three persons know about the developments on the change of party leadership. The leaders included Congress president Sonia Gandhi, her political secretary, Ahmed Patel, and CWC member (permanent) Oscar Fernandes.
Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Wednesday told a TV channel that Mr Gandhi should be made the party president and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi should continue as party mentor. There cannot be two decision- making bodies in one party, he said.
But, Jagdish Sharma, claiming to be a Gandhi family loyalist, circulated pictures of Rahul inside and outside a tent, claimed he was at present in Uttarakhand and denied media claims that he was in Bangkok. However, Congress spokesman P.C. Chacko dismissed Mr Sharma’s claims, saying whatever he has stated about Mr Gandhi “is not correct”.
