Diabetic woman dies of H1N1

Officials said that women died of cardiac attack but an inquiry have been ordered

Chennai: Officials say that the 55-year-old woman from Kolathur who died on Thursday of swine flu, had uncontrolled diabetes because of which she died of cardiac attack. Sources say the woman got admitted to a private hospital in mid-February for uterus removal due to fibroids.

Since she had uncontrolled diabetes, the surgery was postponed and the diabetes was brought under control. Incidentally, swine flu test was done and she tested positive. An enquiry has been ordered into the case. Officials said immediate mosquito control measures were taken and her family given Oseltamivir tablets to be taken for 10 days.
