BJP asks Sonia Gandhi to rein in Congress leaders 'foul-mouthing' PM Modi
BJP leaders protested against Congress MP Raj Babbar for using foul language
New Delhi: Condemning "intemperate" remarks by Congress leaders against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP on Thursday asked party President Sonia Gandhi to rein in her party leaders and demanded an apology from her.
BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said Congress leaders, including former MP Raj Babbar, at a rally at Jantar Mantar had used foul language against the Prime Minister which is "condemnable".
"The entire country is angered by the use of bad remarks against the Prime Minister by some Congress leaders. BJP leaders condemn the use of intemperate language by Congress leaders against the Prime Minister.
"Congress President Sonia Gandhi should rein in her party leaders against bad-mouthing the PM and must apologise to the nation for their remarks," he said.
The BJP leader said Congress is rattled after its successive defeats at the hustings and thus its leaders have used "intemperate language" against its opponents.
"Congress leaders have lost their mental balance after their party's successive defeats at the hands of BJP in various elections," he alleged.
