BSE revises annual listing fee of companies for FY16

Currently, the fee stands at Rs 3,230 for every Rs 5 crore increase in capital

Mumbai: Top stock exchange BSE has revised its annual listing fees for companies listed on its platform for the next fiscal beginning April 1. The exchange has also made changes to various slabs of companies for the payment of listing fees. The companies with a listed capital of Rs 1,000 crore or more would have to pay Rs 8,06,250 as annual listing fees from 2015-16, as against a Rs 8,07,500 charged in current fiscal.

These companies would also have to pay Rs 3,469 additional listing fees for every increase of Rs 5 crore. This is lower than Rs 3,515 currently charged. The revised annual listing fees shall be effective from April 1, 2015 for financial year 2015-16. Those firms falling within the Rs 500-1000 crore level will have to shell out Rs 4,87,500 — up from Rs 4.75 lakh that is currently applicable on this slab. Moreover, they would have to pay an additional Rs 3,188 for every increase of Rs 5 crore.

Currently, this fee stands at Rs 3,230 for every Rs 5 crore increase in capital. The revised annual fees would be lowest at Rs 2 lakh for companies with listed capital of up to Rs 150 crore. In the current fiscal there were three slabs — companies with listed capital of up to 50 crore had to pay an annual fee of Rs one lakh, those with Rs 50-100 crore had to pay Rs 1.66 lakh and with Rs 100-150 crore had to pay Rs 1.90 lakh.

The new annual fee for companies with listed capital within Rs 150-200 crore has been fixed at Rs 2,36,250, an increase from Rs 2.28 lakh currently charged. Besides, the fee for companies with a listed capital between Rs 200-300 crore is Rs 3,03,750, Rs 300-400 crore is Rs 3,67,500 and Rs 400-500 crore the fee is Rs 4,87,500, beginning April 1.

The listed capital of a company includes equity shares, preference shares, Indian depository receipts, fully convertible debentures, partly convertible debentures and any other security convertible into equity shares. BSE said that in case of debenture capital (not convertible into equity shares), the fees will be 75 per cent of the applicable annual listing fees. Besides, the revised fee is not applicable to Privately Placed Debt Instruments and Privately Placed Non Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares.

Another major bourse in the country, NSE, charges annual listing fee of Rs 10.75 lakh on firms with a capital of more than Rs 1,000 crore, and an additional Rs 4,625 for every increase of Rs five crore in capital, according to latest information available on its website. NSE charges a fee of Rs 6.5 lakh on firms with debt capital of more than Rs 500 crore, and an additional Rs 4,250 for every increase of Rs 5 crore.
