Haryana CM ML Khattar says FIR registered in pedestrian run-over case

Two policemen including the driver of the vehicle were also injured

Karnal: A police vehicle belonging to the Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar's convoy ran over a pedestrian on the national highway near Karnal. The incident took place last night when the Chief Minister's convoy was going to the national capital from Chandigarh. Two policemen including the driver of the vehicle have also been injured in the incident.

Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar on Tuesday asked for an FIR to be lodged against the driver in the case where a police vehicle belonging to his convoy ran over a pedestrian near Karnal.

 

 

“It is very unfortunate, we have asked for an FIR to be lodged against the driver in this case. The driver and a policeman have also got injured. The exact cause of the accident will be known only after an investigation. We have given Rs five lakhs to the family of the deceased. We will take care that such incidents do not happen in the future,” said Khattar.

Two policemen including the driver of the vehicle were injured in the incident where police vehicle belonging to his convoy ran over a pedestrian near Karnal last night. The deceased has been identified as Satpal, a vegetable vendor hailing from Takhana village in Karnal district, which is the home constituency of Khattar. After the incident, all the three injured were taken to a trauma centre in Karnal where the pedestrian succumbed to the injuries.
