Nandamuri Balakrishna lashes out at Centre

Anantapur: The rift between the TD and the BJP has deepened with Desam ministers and MLAs criticising the Centre over the “raw deal” given to the state in Budgetary allocations.

Actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna lambasted the Centre for “neglecting genuine issues” of Andhra Pradesh. “Why does the Centre have a problem announcing special status for AP? Following the bifurcation, AP is facing several problems,” said Mr Balakrishna. Adding that the poor allocation of funds to a major irrigation project like Polaravam was also an example of injustice. “Only Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for the Polavaram project. How can the project be completed with such a meagre allocation?” he asked and observed that not even a single rupee was not released as part of the rehabilitation package.

He told the media that the Special Status should be given to the state immediately.
