Samsung officially discloses prices for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the two smartphones unveiled at the MWC 2015

Samsung announced the two flagship smartphones for 2015, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, on March 1. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be available globally starting from April 10, 2015 with 32/64/128GB storage options available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only). The tech giant did not disclose the prices for the two handsets at the event.

However, Samsung’s Netherland website has put out the prices for the two models for preorder on their website. For now, the two flagships will be available only on 32GB and 64GB variants. The other storage variants may show up soon, or in different countries, depending on the market necessity and requirements.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 32GB has been listed for a preorder of 699 Euros (approx Rs 49,000), while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB is priced at 849 Euros (approx Rs 59,000). The 64GB variants for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are listed for a price of 799 Euros (approx Rs 56,000) and 949 Euros (approx Rs 66,000) respectively. Shipping will be done post April 10, 2015, according to the Samsung website.

Presently, these are the international rates for the two handsets and the price for the Indian market is yet to be announced.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge sport a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. Both the devices are powered by Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz, octa-core application processor, 3GB of RAM and feature a 16MP primary camera with a 5MP front-facing camera.
