Hyderabad: The police is putting in place foolproof security for the Budget Session of Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh commencing on Saturday.

As the Budget Sessions of both the states start on the same day, extra security personnel will be deployed outside both Assemblies.

All public gatherings, rallies and protests have been banned for a week within two km of the Assemblies, Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy said.

“With a view to maintaining public order under Section 22(1) (a) to (f) and 22 (2) (a) and (b) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli (No. IX) all public meetings that can cause disturbance have been banned within two km of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Council buildings,” Mr Mahender Reddy said.

The prohibitory order will be effective from 6 am on March 7 till 6 am on March 13. The commissioner also said the entry points for ministers and MLAs have been marked out and surveillance has been improved.

Meanwhile, the city police also prohibited DJs and the use of loudspeakers in the city. The commissioner said that using sound systems exceeding the limits at public gatherings including at processions cause inconvenience to the public.

It also causes acute inconvenience and distress to children, old persons, patients and students.

The police chief added that exceptions will be allowed only with the permission of the local ACPs.
