Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family are expanding their media business and will soon launch an English daily in Telangana.

Mr Chandkrasekhar Rao, who had successfully launched Namaste Telangana, now a leading Telugu daily, and the popular T News Channel during the height of the Telangana movement, will start publishing an English newspaper titled Telangana Today.

Sources said the CM had been toying with the idea of launching an English daily exclusively for Telangana for a while and made up his mind recently.

“It’s true we are coming up with an English daily titled Telangana Today. It may take two to three months for its formal launch. We will have multiple editions in Telangana in a phased manner and will provide all the coverage Telangana people desire,” a close confidant of the CM told this newspaper. At present Namaste Telangana, which was launched on June 6, 2011, is published from Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Nizamabad and the English daily too will begin with some of these editions, it is learnt.
