Mumbai: At one stage, West Indies were unbeatable owing to their bowling strength. The team flaunted names like Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Ian Bishop et al. During ICC World Cup 1996, Ambrose scared the Indians in their paltry chase of 174 in Gwalior.

The bowlers had done a good job dismissing the Caribbeans for 173, thanks to Anil Kumble (3/35) and Manoj Prabhakar (3/39). Richie Richardson scored 47.

When India came to bat with openers Ajay Jadeja and Sachin Tendulkar, the tall lanky pacer got the better of Jadeja. He also dislodged Navjot Sidhu’s stumps. But Tendulkar and Kambli steered India to victory.
