Sony confirms only Xperia Z-series to get Lollipop
Sony has confirmed that non-Z-series smartphones won’t see the Lollipop
Millions of smartphones around the world are receiving the Android Lollipop v5.0.x update. While some have already received it, others will get them slowly, depending on the region. However, Sony has confirmed that the Lollipop update will not be available for those who hold a non-Xperia Z-series smartphone. This could be a setback for Sony smartphone users who preferred to go with a mainstream to budget handset.
Though Sony had confirmed last year that they shall be rolling out the Lollipop updates for their smartphones, the update is yet to be witnessed on all the handsets. Sony had unveiled the Xperia M4 at the MWC 2015, which mentions the smartphone running Android Lollipop out of the box.
@AawWagal Hi Athrava. We’re finalising our testing and remain focused on rolling the Android 5.0 Lollipop update out soon..

According to a report on Softpedia, Sony had an Xperia Z3 handset loaded with Lollipop at the MWC 2015. Given the citing, the Lollipop update does not seem to be far away. However, Sony has stated that they are still testing the Lollipop updates before they finally release it to public.
Sadly, Sony tweeted out with an apology that the non-Z-series smartphones will not see the Lollipop. This means, users who hold the Xperia E3, Xperia E1, Xperia M2 Aqua, Xperia M2, Xperia C3, Xperia T3 or Xperia T2 Ultra, and any others, will remain stuck to Android KitKat v4.4.x. Who knows, Sony may just feel the heat after users and fans show their disgust and plan to update the Xperia users to Lollipop too.
@roi_rdzdal Hi Roi. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is only going to be available for the Xperia Z series, we do apologise.
